1-Research the impact of air pollution on human health and on society's overall wellbeing.  

2-Evaluate the reported links between lipids and cardiovascular diseases.

3-Survey the various corrective surgical procedures that are routinely performed on the heart and its vessels. Select one or two for an in-depth report.

4-Look into the current research on the development of artificial blood. How effective are Oxygent and Oxycyte? Which functions of whole blood can be performed by artificial blood? Which functions cannot?

5-Research the regulations on blood doping for athletic events such as the Olympics. How are they able to detect this violation?

6-The Rh factor is named for the Rhesus monkey. Trace the historical discovery of this protein marker in primates and humans. In addition, look into the discovery of RhoGam. How and when was it developed?

8-Explore the research relating dreams to actual events—past and future. What do dreams tell us about ourselves?

10-We have seen evidence of a biological clock in females. Do men experience the same limitations? Look into studies that examine whether older fathers have more of a predisposition to adverse conditions in their offspring.

11. Research current studies on any of the following diseases: Down syndrome, autism, neurofibromatosis, Alzheimer’s disease, achondroplasia, Marfan’s syndrome, Bipolar and Apert syndrome.

12-It is known that overcrowding and stressful conditions reduce reproductive behavior in rodents. Is there any published evidence of such a phenomenon in humans?

13-Compile a history of research efforts on genetic engineering.

14-Describe problems that have resulted from the standard prophylactic use of antibiotics among farm animals such as poultry, pigs, and cattle.

15- Discuss the growing problem of antibiotic resistance among the different species of bacteria responsible for causing diseases such as gonorrhea, typhoid, and meningitis.

16- Document the development of the sliding-filament model of muscle contraction and the research evidence that supports it.

17- The biology textbook chapter describes how the health of the mother is intimately tied to the health of her infant. How does a father’s health contribute to the health of his children? Report on what current research suggests about a father’s contribution.

18-Exciting progress is being made in research related to the aging process. Prepare a report on recent developments
